Dr. Johnna Herrick-Phelps is the Program Director for Graduate Leadership Studies at Granite State College. Prior to joining the college, she was principal of JH Phelps & Associates Consulting for seventeen years. During this time she worked with public and private organizations in the areas of leadership development, executive coaching, change management, strategic planning, and diversity in the workplace. Her book Seen but not Heard: The implemented strategies and situational factors executive women use to be heard by their male colleagues in the workplace was published in 2007.
Dr. Herrick-Phelps' teaching philosophy is learner oriented and involves a mix of instructional approaches that she tailors to fit each teaching and learning situation. She believes exposing learners to an array of instructional strategies and contexts contributes to expanding their learning potential and helps to open them to new ways of thinking. She teaches a variety of courses at Granite State College.
Dr. Herrick-Phelps holds a M.S in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College, an M.A. in Human Development and a Ph.D in Human and Organizational Development Systems from Fielding Graduate University.
