Merger FAQ

Posted on: October 7th, 2022 by Julie Moser

Granite State College and the University of New Hampshire (UNH) are in the process of merging as part of a new college within UNH. This new college will combine Granite State College and UNH Manchester and will be called the University of New Hampshire College of Professional Studies (UNH CPS).

This college will share a common mission of serving adult and non-traditional learners seeking degrees that support their professional career goals.  As part of UNH CPS, the faculty, staff, and leadership of Granite State College will continue to serve Granite State College students as they do today by maintaining the same tuition structures, academic programs, student support services, and academic policies.  Additional services within career advising, access to certain UNH facilities, and the opportunity to enroll in select face-to-face courses on the UNH Manchester campus will enhance the experience of today’s Granite State College students.

Distinguished Faculty Award

Granite State College is proud of its faculty. Each year up to two faculty members are selected to receive the College’s Distinguished Faculty Award and 10 faculty are selected to participate in the annual Academic Technology Institute (ATI).

The annual Distinguished Faculty Award has been awarded since 1985 and acknowledges faculty who have made outstanding contributions to the teaching/learning process at Granite State College. In recognition of excellence in teaching, recipients exemplify this distinction through the sharing of knowledge in a challenging and supportive learning environment and by demonstrating and inspiring lifelong learning in their students.
