Join the Granite State College Faculty Professional Learning Community (PLC)

Are you interested in joining a collaborative community of educators that will help to enhance and enrich your online teaching strategies? The Granite State College Faculty Professional Learning Community (PLC) is here for you. The PLC was created in April of 2021 and since that time our faculty members have offered nine sessions in areas such as engagement, feedback, developing rubrics, defining and acknowledging plagiarism, educational technology, academic metrics, and more. We have over 50 members as of that time and continue to grow!
What is the GSC Faculty PLC?
The PLC is a collaborative professional development opportunity that is faculty-driven. Each month new discussions are led by our faculty members around innovative and proven teaching practices.
What are the objectives?
Our objective is to enhance the teaching and learning experience all while strengthening our faculty community!
How often do you meet?
We meet monthly for one hour via Zoom on the last Wednesday of each month.
How do I sign up?
If you are interested in joining us, please visit the Professional Learning Community Registration Page. As part of this group, you will be added to the Granite State College Faculty PLC Microsoft Team so that the collaboration and community-building can continue outside of our normal meeting times. This is also a great place for you to ask questions or make suggestions for upcoming meetings. In addition, all members will be receiving a book from Magna Publications called “Teaching Strategies for the Online College Classroom: A Collection of Articles for Faculty”. This will be a great resource for future topics for upcoming meetings. It is also our thank you for taking the time to spend with us each month!
How can I present?
Do you have an expertise or teaching strategy that you would like to share? Please reach out to Dr. Gail Poitrast to let us know. We will get you on the schedule!
