Jennifer Marcolongo B.A.

Instructional Designer

Jennifer Marcolongo earned a BA in Communication Arts and a minor in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire in Manchester (UNHM), graduating summa cum laude in December of 2010. About a year before graduation, Jennifer was still unsure about what she wanted to do – all she knew was she loved higher education and felt at home there. Having served as a Peer Academic Leader for UNHM, she had the experience of working in Academic Affairs and learning ways to best support incoming students. This experience led her to request an internship with Nashua Community College’s (NCC) Office of Online Learning.

Jennifer was fortunate to be under the tutelage of a seasoned instructional designer, who to this day she still connects with for mentoring. Shortly after her internship ended at NCC, she was offered a position as the Online Learning Assistant for NCC, and from 2011-2013, she was the only person on campus providing faculty, staff, and student Blackboard and instructional design support.

Since 2013, Jennifer has worked on several Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grants, with a lot of the responsibility in ensuring Creative Commons licensing and open educational repository management for the projects she was on (TAACCCT Rounds, 1, 2, and 4.)

Following the grant work, Jennifer worked at New England College for the last six years, developing mostly graduate and post-graduate courses. Jennifer looks forward to bringing her 12 years of experience in higher education/instructional design to Granite State College!

Jennifer is known to collaborate well with course developers in a way that allows their subject matter expertise and instructional design practices to result in a high-quality online course experience for both the learners and faculty.

In her “spare” time, Jennifer enjoys embarrassing her kids by talking to everyone and anyone in the grocery line, holding her dog Roxy back from lunging at cars and other animals on walks, glamping at the beach, and most recently, running with the Nike Run Club app!
